East Member Share Group Meeting

For me the best measurement of success for INFRA is in member participation. The annual east regional share group meeting held at the end of June in Northampton, MA, gave me a great sense that we are moving in the right direction as an organization.  Bud Stockwell and his team at Cornucopia Natural Foods did a fabulous job of hosting 20 individuals representing 14 member stores, of which five were first time attendees.At the opening of our time together members shared their desired outcomes:

INFRA Partners with the Non-GMO Project at Expo West

INFRA has lent time and space to the Non-GMO project for the last few years at Expo West, volunteering our meeting room and teaming up with them for retailer receptions. This year at Expo West, INFRA made an effort to team up with the Non-GMO project in new ways to help leverage the voice of this organization through our growing influence as a reputable group in the industry.

INFRA Annual Meeting at Expo West

The 2010 annual general membership meeting provided a great accumulation of all that INFRA has become over its few short years.  It was a wonderful evening of members enjoying a meal together, hearing from board chair Alex Beamer and awards presentations. Overall it could be said that we had fun and got to know each other a little bit better.

Non-GMO Day Promotion Kicks Off at Reception

At a reception on Friday evening, Corinne Shindelar (pictured), CEO of the Independent Natural Food Retailers Association, shares with retailers the concept for the 10-10-10 Non-GMO Day that will happen on Oct. 10, 2010. A collaboration between Jimbo’s … Naturally! retail stores, INFRA, UNFI and the Non-GMO Project, the 10-10-10 Non-GMO Day will be part education, part promotion.
