Senior Region Manager


Status: Reports to the Director of Member Relations. Position is full-time exempt, located in the St. Paul office.  Travel is required. INFRA will consider a remote work-from-home arrangement with the ideal candidate.  

About INFRA: Independent Natural Food Retailers Association (INFRA) is a network of independent retailers of all sizes working together to strengthen our position in the natural foods industry. INFRA builds strategic alignment among its members to provide peer support for retailers; identify and implement best practices; and facilitate collaboration in the areas of purchasing and marketing.

Summary: The Senior Region Manager’s primary function is to oversee and collaborate with the Region Managers, who work in the field directly with INFRA member stores, to develop programs for continuous improvement in store operations. 

Essential Functions

Member Development 

  • Develop strong, direct relationships between INFRA and its member stores
  •  Facilitate the management of in-person meetings of the membership in collaboration with INFRA team
  • Provide a smooth transition for new members through coordinated efforts with Member Relations and entire INFRA team
  • Coordinate activities with Region Managers and Retail Services team to manage and execute store-level improvement projects
  • Provide leadership to continually increase member participation in INFRA programs by providing education and analysis to stores to demonstrate the value of INFRA programs
  • Develop best practices for store departments and for large and small-sized stores
  • Identify and propose programs using a consensus-based member-involved process of store evaluations and recommend fixes to under-performing areas
  • Support the Retail Consulting Program:
    • Manage the requirements and participation in the program
    • Engage members with in-store visits, work plans, and outcomes
    • Produce an ongoing line of communication for support

Team Management

  • Coach and support the Region Managers to achieve identified professional growth and development
  • Approve work plans for Region Managers and ensure all set clear, measurable goals which can be evaluated during annual performance reviews
  • Support the execution of these goals through regular discussions and follow through
  • Ensure performance of Region Managers through mentorship and evaluation
  • Provide advice, problem solving, and referral to available resources for members within the Association

General INFRA

  • Work with INFRA staff to generate annual calendar of regional activities
  • Manage pilot group program launches in collaboration with Director, CEO and staff
  • Prepare and propose annual budget and annual work plan for Region Managers
  • Participate actively and constructively as a member of the INFRA Leadership Team
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in grocery retail leadership
  • At least 7-10 years of overall professional experience; ideally some project management experience
  • Supervisory experience of a field team
  • Experience with consensus building
